Children and Family
Ministries Director
Need: to support our ministry to young families and
their children to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ in our community, and to
ensure the ministry and sustainability of Calvin Church into the future.
Qualifications
• resident in the greater community
• parent of young child/children
• possessing gifts of outreach, hospitality,
small group leadership
•
deep and mature faith, consistent with the Presbyterian/Reformed
Tradition
•
flexibility and energy in starting projects from scratch
•
ability to work with current leadership (Hand in Hand Christian Preschool, nursery
coordination, Christian Education)
•
formal theological education not required
Job Description
• Outreach in the community, setting up formal
and informal events that will attract young families
• Formation of one or more small groups
• Coordination of activities within Calvin
Church making the church a welcoming place for young family visitors
• Coordination with Hand in Hand, Nursery
during worship and Christian Education Ministry
• Reports to Pastor, serves on Hand in Hand
Board, Christian Ed Committee
Compensation: $1000/month
Accountability and
Review
Director of Ministry to Children and Families will be
accountable to Session and attend Session meetings as needed. The role and progress against goals will be
reviewed regularly and with a formal performance appraisal annually.
