Our Christian Education Ministries
Small Groups
Small groups are an integral part of the spiritual life for
many members of Calvin Presbyterian and provide an opportunity for members to
enrich their Biblical understanding in a more intimate setting. Each small group chooses it own focus of
study that includes books of the Bible and accompanying devotionals. Each small group is unique and runs
independently of one another.
Sunday School
Calvin Presbyterian Sunday school program ministers to
pre-school aged children through adults with the children’s Sunday school
program run by adult volunteers of the church and the adult Sunday school
program being led by the pastor. Each
program is committed to nurturing the faith of its students by following a
Bible-based Sunday school curriculum. A
confirmation class for teens is also held concurrently with the children’s
program. The Sunday school program culminates each June with Youth Sunday, a
worship service entirely run by all the students of the Sunday school as well
as the Youth Group.
In the past, Calvin Presbyterian has run Vacation Bible
School as an outreach program to the nearby community. Also included in the children’s program is
childcare for infants and toddlers during Sunday services.
Youth Group
Calvin Presbyterian’s Youth
Group is an outreach program for students in grades 6 through 12 aimed at
ministering to the faith life of our beloved teens. Calvin’sYouth Group is run by adult
volunteers, who are committed to empowering our students to live out their
faith boldly. Meetings are centered on
the formalized study of relevant Biblical topicswhile providing
a social outlet for our youth. The
Calvin Youth Group actively participates in the Sunday worship service as well
as attends retreats, mission trips and praise events. Every spring the Youth Group, along with the
Fellowship Committee, sponsors a pasta supper in which the proceeds benefit the
youth group to help underwrite the cost of the various trips and activities.
