Our Worship Committee
Our Mission
The
mission of the Worship Committee is, through collaboration with the Minister,
Session, and Music Director, to assist in the development of worship that gives
praise and thanksgiving to the Triune God, through the proclamation of God’s
word and the celebration of the Sacraments, and to work at providing worship
experiences that are meaningful for members and worshippers at our church.
The
Worship Committee will pursue this mission by providing input and ideas to the
Pastor and Director of Music for regularly scheduled services and special
services, and by assuming responsibility for coordinating functions and duties
that result in well organized and
presented worship services.
Tasks
These
responsibilities will include:
• providing oversight of the changes of
seasonal colors and decorations of the sanctuary that enhance the atmosphere
for praise and worship;
• establishing an annual schedule for Pulpit
Assistants and Communion Captains and servers;
• assigning someone to be responsible for a
schedule of flowers to be purchased weekly for the altar and for the seasonal
changing of sanctuary colors and banners;
• encouraging the use of music and visuals
(fine arts) in the worship experience and utilizing the gifts and talents of
the congregation;
• assisting the Pastor and Director of Music in
planning for special services.
